Places to meet, share ideas and connect through art.
There's something very special about seeing artwork in person. The opportunity to experience its layers, textures and subtle details, and to have conversations about the landscapes, materials and memories behind it, is an important part of my practice.
Over the coming months, I'm looking forward to exhibiting new work, collaborating with other artists and welcoming visitors back into my studio in Dunbar. I'll also be sharing some of the materials and processes I use through a series of workshops.
I hope you'll be able to join me at one of the events below.
Current & Forthcoming Exhibitions
10 Years On. A Celebration.
I'm delighted to be exhibiting with Silson Contemporary as the gallery celebrates its tenth anniversary. This special exhibition brings together artists working across painting, ceramics and sculpture, and I'm very pleased to be part of the celebration.
Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour (RSW)
I'm delighted to have a painting through to the selection stage for the forthcoming RSW Open Annual Exhibition. Having exhibited with the society previously, it would be wonderful to return. I'll share further details once the final selection is announced.
Art & Jewellery with Moira Patience
I'm really looking forward to exhibiting alongside the wonderful Edinburgh jewellery designer Moira Patience. Our work shares an interest in natural materials, the landscape and the stories they carry. It will be lovely to bring our different practices together and explore the connections between painting and jewellery.
Joint Exhibition at Dukes of West Barns
I'm pleased to be returning to Dukes of West Barns for a joint exhibition with another artist. Dukes is a wonderful local space that brings art, creativity and community together, and I'm looking forward to sharing new work there. More details about the exhibition and my fellow artist will follow.
Open Studio & Workshops Current & Forthcoming Exhibitions
One of the most rewarding parts of my practice is sharing the ideas, materials and processes behind my work. I've become increasingly interested in how the materials we use carry their own histories, from the fibres of handmade paper to pigments gathered from the landscape. I'm looking forward to sharing some of these discoveries through workshops that encourage curiosity, experimentation and a personal connection to place.
Connection to Landscape Through Mixed Media
10am–3pm each day · £180 including materials
I'm delighted to be teaching this two-day workshop at Paintbox School of Art, exploring the relationship between landscape, memory and mark-making. We'll begin by spending time observing and gathering inspiration from the coastline around Cockenzie, before returning to the studio to experiment with paper, printmaking, layering and expressive marks. The workshop is about discovering new ways of responding to a landscape through materials, allowing space for chance, intuition and unexpected discoveries. My hope is that everyone leaves with a collection of experimental pieces, new ideas and a deeper understanding of their own creative process.
Summer Workshop – Paintbox School of Art
I'll also be returning to Paintbox for a second workshop in summer 2027.
I'm looking forward to continuing to share my interest in materials, experimentation and the ways we can develop a personal visual language through making. I'll share the theme, dates and booking details as soon as they're confirmed.
Dunbar Art Route – Open Studio
I'll be opening my studio again for Dunbar Art Route in 2027.
This is always one of the highlights of my year. I love welcoming people into the space where my work develops, sharing the materials and experiments that fill the studio, and talking about the landscapes that inspire my paintings. More than anything, it's the conversations and sense of community that make the weekend so special. Whether you're an art collector, fellow maker or simply curious about the creative process, I'd love to welcome you.
